Michael Dennis Darden

July 3, 1954 – June 20, 2025

Survived by his spouse, Sherry Mathis; children: Rachel (Armando) Hernandez and  their children: Jason and Nathan; Justin (Amber) Mathis  and their children: Daren, Julia, and Christiane; Patricia Mathis (Pete O’Connell) and their children: Bentley and Emma; Chris Mathis, and Brad Darden; siblings: Steven Darden, Corinne Darden,  Richard Darden; many cousins.

He is joining his grandparents, parents, Rodney and Gladys Darden; brother, Rodney Darden Jr.; sister, Cheryl Foley; many cousins, and his best friend, Dale.

A little about who Mike was and what he loved: camping-especially at Fremont State Lakes. As a family, we have many fond memories there. He also loved  fishing, music, talking about his time in the service, his siblings, his family. He loved spending time with his wife and his children. Most of all, he adored his grandchildren. He was a huge part of their lives and often took the opportunity to dote over them and spend time with them. He wanted nothing more then to see them all graduate high-school. That was important to him.

Today we say goodbye to a living legend. Rest easy and in peace, old man.  We love you.

VISITATION: Monday, July 7, 2025, from 10am to 11:30am at the West Center Chapel.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Monday, July 7th at 12:30pm at Omaha National Cemetery with Military Honors.
