Michael Edward Polascik, age 33, was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Polascik, and paternal great-grandparents, Faye and Harry Hart. He is survived by his daughter, Aliyah Dawn Polascik; his parents, April Wickiser, Richard “Joe” Wickiser, Michael and Brigitte Styles; grandparents, Michael N. Polascik, Jackie Gunia, and Eddie Styles; sister, Emily Polascik; brothers: Tyler Polascik, Phillip Manriquez, and Travis Masilko; nephews, Benjamin and Aiden; many aunts, uncles, cousins, the dearest of friends, and Pepe Polascik his trusty cat.

Michael had many passions: his daughter, music, fishing, Kansas City Chiefs, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Kansas City Royals, kayaking, camping, BBQ’ing, clouds, sunrises, sunsets, thunderstorms, boxing, golfing, travel, art, and helping others.

Michael was a free spirit—adventurous, daring, and very outgoing. His happiest times were spent with his daughter, his family, and the many friends he’s acquired along the way. He was a shoulder to lean on, the first to give a great big hug, smile and a laugh that lit up a room. He was the epitome of strength who showed everyone in his life just how far he would go to continue living. Our hero—our Superman.

Words cannot express the extreme loss to this world. All the love and support he and our family have received is a true testament to his character. Michael is peacefully resting until we meet again. May we always be #mykystrong #teammyky.

My darling Aliyah, grandma can’t even put into words the hurt I feel for you. And April, as a mother my heart is also hurting so much for you too. Michael was the best father I could have ever asked for my granddaughter and he will be so, so missed. I’ve been praying for his and everyone’s suffering to end. His has now, but ours will go on for some time. I will be there for you whatever you need. God will help us through this.

Mikey you always made me laugh when I worked for CKF. There are never any words when someone we know leaves us behind. But I will say you were an amazing father, you were there when people needed you, and you fought to stay as long as you could. Thanks for the pep talks, and a couple heart to hearts. Fly high buddy, until we meet again.

Praying, for his whole family, for strength. I’ve always thought of you often, and now I think of you even more. I find myself going back to your Facebook page just to read all the nice things people have to say about you. I prayed for you and your fight, and you gave cancer on hell of a fight Superman! F*** CANCER!!
Until we meet again my friend, may you rest in peace
