Michael J. Jones

Michael J.  Jones

January 4, 1954-August 13, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Michael James Jones, who departed this life on August 13, 2025, at the age of 71 surrounded by family.

Born on January 4, 1954, in Omaha, NE, Mike lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and devotion to those he loved. He was known for his unwavering support, boundless love, and memorable sense of humor that shone through in his quick one-liners.

Mike dedicated his career to Local 464 as a Steamfitter, where he proudly worked for 37 years before retiring. Outside of his professional life, he found joy in tending to his garden—especially growing tomatoes—and in embracing his favorite role as “Grandpa.” He never missed an opportunity to attend his grandchildren’s events, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm and so much cow bell.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kristi Danielson, son, Kevin Jones (Amanda); grandchildren, Hayley (Jesse), Grace, Maggie and Braxtin, and great-grandchild, Stevie; sisters, Marilyn, Lori, and Linda; as well as by many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, of more than four decades; his parents, Robert and Gloria; and his brother Robbie.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Monday, August 18, 2025, at 6:00PM  followed by VISITATION until 8:00PM at West Center Chapel. All who knew and loved Mike are welcome to attend, tell stories, and honor his memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Parkinson’s Foundation, a causes close to Michael’s heart.

As Mike would say “he is off like a dirty shirt”. He is now at peace reunited in heaven with Donna, aka love muffin.

Thinking of all of you as we remember your dad and grandpa. We are happy that we got to know him through love of family and music.

My favorite memory is watching Mr. & Mrs. Jones drive up the circle to visit with Kristi and the girls … always lending a helping hand with the yard. Showing love through giving of time, beautiful.

We were so sorry to hear about your loss. Our thoughts go out to all of you during this difficult time. A fond memory is when he would come over and visit with us, we would be sitting together in the kitchen, sports were usually playing, and good humor was all around. I hope that your happy memories will bring you some comfort in the days ahead.
