Michael “Mike” Shane DuBose, Jr.
February 17, 1977 – April 17, 2025
Michael (Mike) Shane DuBose, Jr., 48, of Omaha, NE, passed away peacefully at home on April 17, 2025. Michael was born on February 17, 1977, to Kim Marie Cook and Michael Shane DuBose in Denver, CO.
Mike’s life was marked by an enduring passion for sports, commitment to his family and his love for cooking. He became a respected figure in his community through coaching. His influence was profound not only for his vast knowledge of athletics but also for his principles of instilling values of discipline and structure to his countless athletes. His devotion went far beyond any win or loss; Coach DuBose was a mentor who taught life lessons, showing his players how to excel with integrity, resilience and teamwork. You always knew when he was at a game as you could hear him chanting, “LETZ lets GO GO GO” or telling Alysha and Michael to “Get in your rhythm”. His presence will always be around us, and he’ll now be whistling and cheering us on from the best seat in the gym.
Mike loved his family with all his heart as they were his biggest fans and greatest source of pride. A devoted husband to his wife of 22 years, Kristin Rinne DuBose, and father, to his children: Mykl’Mechel DuBose, Alysha Cathrine DuBose and Michael Shane DuBose, III. His family will remember him for his passion for life, his incredible sense of humor and his contagious laughter. Mike was a self-taught chef with a true passion for creating masterpieces for his loved ones. His skillset in the kitchen was impressive and his talent was unmatched. If you tasted his plum sauce, you know what we mean. Mike was a phenomenal father, husband and unconditional friend who will be missed greatly. His spirit will live on in the lives he touched and in the legacy of excellence and compassion he leaves behind in his children.
May you rest in peace, knowing you were deeply cherished and will never be forgotten. This is not a goodbye, we’ll see you later my sweet love.
