Michael S. Kutilek
4/19/1991 – 5/22/2020
Michael Kutilek, 29, of Omaha, passed away Friday May 22nd. He was born April 19, 1991; and is the son of Steve and Anne Kutilek of Omaha, Nebraska. Mike loved his family, friends, dogs, music, and anything outdoors – especially golf and biking. He could always be seen with his dog Wilson. His beautiful smile, gentle soul, and kind heart made him easy to like and want to be around.
Mike cared about people and was always willing to help anyone. His personality was genuine and unselfish. He always asked how you were doing and cared about your answer.
Although Mike worked for a few large companies, he was an entrepreneur at heart and ran a couple of his own businesses. He was extremely intelligent and graduated from Creighton Prep and then UNL with degrees in finance and economics. Once Mike researched something, there was no project that he couldn’t successfully complete and he was an incredibly hard worker.
Mike will always be your brother, your loyal friend, your nephew, your grandson, your cousin, your soulmate, our son. He is survived by his parents Steve and Anne Kutilek; his brothers Joe (Lauren), Tom (Annette), and Hank Kutilek (Emily). Grandparents Thomas and Annette Kutilek; and Floyd and Karen Rothfuss. And many uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and great friends.
Mike lived a meaningful and adventurous life that touched many hearts. He will be missed horribly but his soul will live on amongst all who loved him.
Memorial Mass: Tuesday, May 26, 2020, 3PM St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Condolences and memorials can be sent in care of the Kutilek family to be distributed to charitable organizations.

Mike was such a special, loving young man. We were so lucky to have him in our lives. He will be sorely missed. Huge prayers for him and your family.

Steve and Anne, Hank…I don’t have the right words but beautiful memories of Mike and his infectious smile and winning personality. You are a wonderful family and my thoughts are with you at the difficult time. I feel so blessed to have known Mike.
Mike and I weren’t incredibly close, but he was always there to talk and listen. He made me feel welcomed when I felt out of place. I’m so grateful to have known him. This hurts deeply, and his kindness will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers to you all. Rest easy.

I was fortunate to attend Creighton Prep with Mike and I have only positive memories of him. I can say confidently he always had a smile on his face and always carried a positive attitude. A smile and a positive attitude is what I remember most about Mike. God Bless the entire family. I will always include him in my prayers.
I only met Mike through Annette and Tom. But from the way they talked about him, you knew he was special. Its clear how much he is loved and celebrated. Deepest condolences to all his family and close friends. ❤️

I’ll always remember Mike as having a big smile and a cheerful attitude! From CTK to Boji to nights out in the Old Market, we have so many great memories that will live on. Steve and Anne my heart is broken for you. I didn’t know Mike personally but from what my son and his friends that did know him have all said is what an incredibly kind person he was. Steve you were and still are one of the nicest humans I know. Know you are all in my prayers. Love to you all.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Mike. I only knew Mike a short while at CTK but he is certainly someone I’ll never forget. Mike was always willing to partake in our mischievous activities and was so fun to be around.
Steve – It took my breath away when I saw Michael’s obituary. Although I didn’t know him, I know how proud you are of your boys. I always enjoy seeing you and hearing the stories of what they’re up to. You and your family will be in my heart and my thoughts.
