Michael S. Seiler
March 14, 1954 – March 23, 2023
Michael Simon Seiler of Omaha, Nebraska passed away surrounded by his family on March 23rd, 2023 at the age of 69. Mike was born on March 14, 1954 to George R. and Josephine A. (Brandner) Seiler in Watertown, South Dakota. Mike grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and graduated from O’Gorman High School in 1972. After graduation he attended Nettleton College in Sioux Falls and obtained an Associate Degree in Accounting.
Mike began his career with Northwestern Bell where he met his loving wife Mary L. Byrd and married her on September 10th, 1977 in Madison, South Dakota.
Mike and Mary relocated their family to Omaha in 1985 where he spent the majority of his career at “Ma Bell”. After his retirement from Quest Communications, he worked for 5 years at CSG International before he officially retired in 2010.
Mike was a carpenter at heart – a real “do it yourselfer”, even remodeling their retirement home in Sun City, AZ. If there was a job to be done, Mike was up for the challenge – especially when it meant he could save a penny. In addition, he enjoyed hunting, golfing, landscaping, bike riding, camping with friends & family and taking road trips with dear friends in his MGs. He was a real jokester, willing to be silly all for the sake of a good laugh.
Mike was a family man, our rock, always providing advice, love and support to his children and spoiling the granddaughters. His bear hugs will be missed by us all.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Mary Seiler; Son, Matt (Mindy) Seiler; Daughter, Melissa (Jonathan) DiCesare; Grandchildren, Malley and Macey Seiler. Siblings; Jim (Connie) Seiler, Tom Seiler, Mary (Wayne) Svoboda and George (Jill) Seiler; In Laws; Ron (Nancy) Byrd, Rick Byrd and Pat (Lori) Byrd and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by parents George Seiler and Josephine Seiler; Brothers Rich and Dennis Seiler; In Laws Maurice and Bonnie Byrd, Patty Seiler, Dawn Byrd, and Jan Byrd.

Too soon for him to leave such a wonderful life you two had together. Sounds like he never changed from when I knee him in the early years growing up. He will be missed but the memories will be cherished. Blessings to you all.
