Mickey Mick Leroy Harper died in his home in Missouri Valley, Iowa Sunday, March 15, 2015, at age 59. Mick was born December 6, 1955 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Dwight Harper and Maxine Campbell. He grew up in Missouri Valley, Iowa with his six siblings. In 1974 he married his first wife Bernadine and they had three children; Bob, Kyle, and Tonia. In 1990 he married his second wife Cathy and they had two children; Thad and Mickayla. Mick loved to hunt, fish, and go camping with family and friends. He served time on the Missouri Valley Fire Department. He was a member of the Missouri Valley Eagles Club. He loved his children and adored his nine grandchildren: Taylor, Jenna, Zach, Jessie, Morgan, Ellie, Jade, Aiden, and Avery. He spent most of his time socializing with friends and family. He was a jack of all trades and was currently working as a farm hand. He is preceded in death by his father Dwight Harper Sr., grandparents; Lloyd and Ella Campbell, and Albert and Lily Harper, and brother in law Ward Richardson. He is survived by his mother: Maxine Harper; siblings; Rick Harper and Theresa Hawkins of Blair, Nebraska, Dwight Harper and wife Sheila of Honey Creek, Iowa, Chris Richer and husband Doug of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Connie Harper and Buck Buckner of Malvern, Iowa, Virginia Richardson of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Tina Harper of Missouri Valley, Iowa, children; Bob Harper and wife Jamie of Blair, Nebraska, Kyle Harper and wife Janice of Blair, Nebraska, Tonia Harper and Troy Hekter of Wisner, Nebraska, Thad Harper and Jessica Earlbacher of Harlan, Iowa , Mickayla Harper of Missouri Valley, Iowa, grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Following the committal service the family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Methodist Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
