Mike Anderson, 71, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on November 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Elizabeth Anderson. He is survived by his daughters, Jamie and Jenny (Ray); granddaughters, Hailey (Josiah) and Carley; brother, Greg (Sandy); sisters, Joanie (Greg) and Linda (George); as well as five nieces, a nephew, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mike was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth and humor brightened the lives of everyone he met. A man of many talents, he excelled as a welder, cabinet maker, mechanic, and landlord. Known as a natural “fixer,” he had an extraordinary gift for working with his hands.

Born and raised in Omaha, Mike was the second of four siblings and a graduate of Westside High School. Throughout his life, he pursued diverse ventures in real estate, worked on significant projects with Kiewit, and ran his own cabinet-making business. Of all his roles, his favorite was working alongside his close friend, John Harvey.

Mike’s vibrant personality shone through in his hobbies, which included motorcycle riding, playing pool, gardening, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, and colorful storytelling. Above all, he loved staying busy and was happiest when immersed in a project or adventure.

The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Mike’s remarkable life by sharing joyful stories and memories that reflect his spirit and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.

Mike will always hold a special place in my heart. When I was a kid Mike rigged my Pinewood Derby car and won me a third place trophy. He was always very good to my side of the family and I will miss him at Holiday dinners at George and Linda’s

I was so sorry to hear about Mike’s passing. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor to us for many years. We all lovingly referred to him as “Mayor Mike” on 53rd Street. My deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
