Milan Erik Jones

Milan Erik Jones

February 8, 1991 – February 27, 2025

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, was unexpectedly taken from us on February 27, 2025.

Milan graduated from McCook High School in 2009, at which time he returned to Omaha where he entered the workforce and spent his free time surrounded by his family and friends—including the countless friends he made via video game communities. Milan worked in various jobs, but one consistent theme emerged: helping others. He was gifted with leadership skills that guided so many of his coworkers to success. He loved being a leader and dedicating his time to his work.

A dedicated and talented person, Milan taught himself Japanese and Spanish; just an example of how whenever Milan became curious and set his mind to something, there’s nothing that could get in his way. An avid traveler, Milan was passionate about experiencing new cultures and never shied away from new adventures.

Those close to Milan describe him as a “kind-hearted person,” who truly embodied a “ray of sunshine,” emitting a bright, shining light in everyone’s lives.

Milan was a cherished brother to Morgan, Abigail, and Ethan. They could always count on Milan to have their backs, regardless the circumstances.

Milan was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Manning.

Milan is survived by his parents: Kelly (Manning) Boner and Jason Boner, Warrell Erik Jones; siblings: Morgan (Jones) Erwin and Tyler Erwin, Abigail Boner, and Ethan Boner; nephew, Jack Erwin; grandparents: Janice Manning, Barbara Jones and Warrell Jones, Rod and Linda Rooney; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. And we can’t forget his two beloved cats, Table and Chair.

His family and loved ones will miss his beautiful soul.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5th from 5-7pm at West Center Chapel.

Funeral: Thursday, March 6th, 11am at West Center Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for a charitable cause to be announced.

I am so sorry for your loss. Milan was truly a treasure and didn’t deserve to be taken from us so soon. I remember going to high school with him and how much joy he brought to band class with his antics. He will be missed.

Milan was truly one of the best friends that a person could ask for. He would be there for you no matter what and would always bring out the fun side of you. I learned how to be a better friend and be a better person because of him over the past 9 years and it breaks my heart that I will never again get to hear the sound of his laugh or be able to share just a FaceTime call talking about the most random things. He was a natural leader, someone you could look to for advice, and an overall beacon of light in such a dark world. I know I will never be able to find another friend like him. I am so sorry to his family and friends and anyone who was able to have the opportunity to be in his presence. He was truly one of the best and I am going to miss him dearly. I love you my friend, rest peacefully.

Milan was not only a great leader and mentor but a great friend. He never failed to make others smile and laugh . He was the
light in any room he walked into. And made a positive impact on anyone who got the privilege to meet him. He will be missed dearly 💙

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a beautiful soul. I was always truly excited when Milan would come to town. We always laughed, and he had the best hugs. Your Mama is going to miss you so much Milan, but we will all work together to keep your spirit alive. Jason, Morgan, Abby, Ethan, Tyler, and GJ. We will say extra prayers for you all as you navigate your new “normal”. This year will be a rough one, and you can always count on us to be there for you. Lots and lots and lots of love being sent your way. Always family to us.

There was a time in my life when Milan and I were best friends, and he’s someone I’ll never forget. Life took us in different directions but we still caught up occasionally online over the years- and he still comes to mind often. I was literally speaking to someone about him just the other day. He was a great friend and a great person, and I’m so utterly shocked. いつも大好き

To Milan’s family and those who loved him. There are no words that can lessen the grief from the loss of your child or grandchild or brother or sister. There are no words that can ease the pain and anguish of losing our loved one. There is little that can be said that will give comfort to those aunts, uncles and other family and friends who loved Milan. But words are all I have to express the sadness I feel from hearing of my great-nephew’s death. I pray that God will hold you close and comfort you. I hope that fond memories of Milan will soften the pain of your loss and give you reasons to smile again.

There was a time when I had alienated a lot of people in my life. But Milan saw through the pain and found ways to reach me – no judgement just pure love and understanding. I am so sad that so many people won’t have the chance to witness his kind spirit. It was truly healing and something I’ve tried to emulate. His life had deep meaning to so many and he will be sorely missed. May all who love and miss him be gently held in love.

Milan was a special friend to our daughter in high school and spent a lot of time at our home. He was always an amazing person to be around, always had a smile on his face. Taken too soon, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and all of his friends.

Milan was truly one of a kind! His kindness, humor, and warmth made such an impact on everyone lucky enough to know him. He had a way of making people feel seen, of turning even the hardest days into something brighter. I can only imagine how deep this loss is for his family, and my heart goes out to you. Please know that Milan’s love and light didn’t leave this world, it lives on in the countless people he touched. Wishing you strength, comfort, and the space to grieve and celebrate the incredible person he was. He will never be forgotten ♥️

Milan meant so much to everyone he met, from the moment he joined us at Milan Laser I knew he would develop and lead people with immense excellence. He was amazing to collaborate with and always faced everyday with the most contagious smile. We will all mis you so much and will everyday we are apart ❤️

  • Josh Shuttleworth Posted March 5, 2025 8:37 pm

Milan embodied kindness and gentleness in a world where those traits are becoming hard to find. He could always make anyone laugh with his infectious sense of humor. A truly wonderful person is gone, and we are all poorer for the loss.

  • Regina Posted March 5, 2025 10:54 pm

I only had the pleasure of knowing Milan a few months. He was a supervisor to me at Milan, and his tech savvy knowledge gave me many shortcuts I still use every day.

Then one day in passing he discovered I like tabletop games like D&D, and he introduced me to a youtube series called Questing Queens, and I then introduced him to Kinky Boots. In the following weeks we’d get into random convos when I’d message him about the latest Questing Queens episode I watched….

He touched so many lives on a profound level, in comparison he touched mine on a much less substantial level…so I think it truly speaks to the radiance of his soul, and the goodness he spread in this world that even someone who only knew him a handful of months will never forget him. He was one of a kind.

  • Pam Zagurski Posted March 6, 2025 8:25 am

Kelly Rae and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you especially today.
Memories are a comfort and blessing, may Milan always give you love and peace in your memories of him.
I cannot imagine what you are all going through.❤️
