Milton J. Thiem
September 18, 1929 – March 6, 2024
Milt was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Omaha, NE, on Sept. 18, 1929. He began his journey to heaven peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
Milt was raised at St. James Orphanage in Omaha, and later married Stella Jane Clancy at Holy Name Catholic Church in Omaha, NE, on August 20, 1955. Together they raised 4 children: Vicki, Pat, Mike and John.
Milt was in the US Navy for 4 years followed by 20 years in the US Air Force. He retired from the military in 1968. He continued his career as a dental lab technician at the University of Iowa and Creighton University. He then founded and owned Thiem Dental Ceramics until his retirement in 2004.
Milt was preceded in death by his mother in law, Stella Clancy-Rasmussen; and brother-in-law, Charles Clancy. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Stella; children: Vicki Lechtenberg, Pat Thiem (Deb), Mike Thiem (Nancy), John Thiem (Colleen); grandchildren: Brian Lechtenberg (Krysta), Sarah Lechtenberg, Kelsey Thiem (Ross Johnson), Hailey Thiem, Jena Primsky (Mike), Jessica Hanna (Nolan), Jordan Sutton (Dylan), Jaden Lortz (Jake), Joe Thiem (Alexandra Hubbard), Matt Thiem, Lara Thiem (fiancé, Evan Johnson); great-grandchildren: Chloe Lechtenberg, Mason and Miles Primsky, Carsen Hanna, Stanley Sutton, and Lydia Lortz; extended members of the Thiem and Gattis families.
Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2024, at our West Center Chapel from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., with a Vigil Service following at 6:30 pm.
A Family Mass will be held at St Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Siena Francis House or The Madonna School.

My prayers are with your entire family. Being grade school friends with John, I spent endless hours at the Thiem household. Milton was a special man and a great role model for me as I developed into a young man.
