Monte L. Brown
September 22, 1963 – August 19, 2024
Monte Lee Brown passed away on August 19, 2024, surrounded by family at CHI Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, NE. He was born on September 22, 1963, in Schuyler, Nebraska, to Don and Eileen Brown, and was raised in Stuart, Nebraska, where he attended Stuart High School, graduating in 1981.
After high school, Monte moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, where he pursued his passion for the automobile industry at Northeast Community College, studying to become a service technician, and automobile computer specialist. In Stuart, he met and married his high school sweetheart, Jenise Shald, beginning a lifelong journey filled with love, dedication, and shared dreams.
Monte spent nearly a decade in the service technician field before taking a bold step in 1993 to purchase his own candy and tobacco wholesale distribution business. He poured his heart and soul into the business, running it successfully until 2018, wherein he took on another adventure, this time in the software industry. His creativity, business savvy, and willingness to take risks were evident in all he did.
Known for his genuine and inclusive nature, Monte had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel at home, whether they had known him for years or had just met him. He loved bringing people together, often organizing scavenger hunts on holidays, enjoying board games, and finding any reason to gather family and friends. His love for his family was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren.
Monte also had a deep passion thinking “outside the box,” always questioning how things were made or how to make something better, and a passion for cars, a love that extended beyond his career into his personal life. His enthusiasm for everything automotive was infectious, and he was always eager to share his knowledge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Eileen Brown; and his grandparents.
Monte is survived by his beloved wife, Jenise, of Omaha; his three children; son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Jenilee Sullivan (Matt) of Omaha, Lucas Brown of Omaha, Travis Brown (Jaelyn) of Omaha; his grandchildren, Landon and Emerson Sullivan; and his siblings, Dottie Andersen of Omaha, Daniel Brown (Jodi) of Blair, NE, Jerry Brown (Jayma) of Oakland, NE, Jason Brown (Danielle) of Omaha, and Joel Brown of Omaha; and numerous aunts and uncles. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Monte,
We only knew each other for a little while , but I promise to represent the “Arms” nickname you gave me at 88 Tactical.
Thank you for the great conversation and the time we had together.

Sending my love to all the family. My thoughts are with you in this time of grieving.
I’m very sorry to hear of this. Thoughts and prayers to Jenise and family.
Hey Monte, the last time we spoke you made a point to make it to dinner to meet with us even though it wasn’t very convenient for you. You said nice things to everyone, and left with the intention of coming back, but didn’t make it. I didn’t have the chance to thank you in person and tell you what a pleasure it has been to work for you, and how much good your company has done. A great man’s work echoes out into infinity, and your work continues to echo in profoundly positive ways. Thank you for the chance to play a part in it all, and the future’s looking good sir! Rest easy.
