Murray R. Schmoker, CPA, JD, age 65 years.

Murray was born on September 6, 1954 in Stromsburg, Nebraska to Armand and Marjorie (Nielsen) Schmoker as the eldest of five children.

Murray married Deb Carstensen in 1981 before graduating in 1983 from the University of Nebraska at Kearney magna cum laude in Business Administration.  After moving to Omaha to start his career as a certified public accountant, their son, Benjamin Scott was born in 1988 and their daughter, Sarah Anne in 1990.  He accomplished a lifelong goal by obtaining his Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska Lincoln at the age 50.

Murray is remembered as a loving father of two who touched the lives of many as an active member and leader in the Omaha community.  He strived to serve with integrity and dependability throughout his career and was well-known for his unconditional support of family and friends.  He enjoyed Harley rides in the Loess hills and the companionship of his beloved dog, Rosie.

Murray is survived by Deb, his former wife of 38 years; children, Benjamin and Sarah; parents, Armand and Marjorie; siblings: Byron, Gaylen, Morace, and Ruth Ann McKeever; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Saturday, January 4th, 2pm, St. Martha’s Episcopal Church (780 Pinnacle Dr., Papillion) followed by a VISITATION until 5pm.
