Nadine Ellen (Wooton) Ritsch
September 10, 1950 – November 23, 2022
Nadine Ellen (Wootton) Ritsch was a caring sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world suddenly from diabetic complications on November 23, 2022, at CHI Lakeside Health Hospital in Omaha, Neb. at age 72.
She was born to Charles and Mildred Wootton on September 10, 1950, in Yankton, South Dakota. After graduating from Yankton High School in 1968, she moved at the age of 18 to California. She lived and worked in the Bay Area for nearly 25 years. Her career in information technology provided her opportunities with IBM and Blue Cross & Blue Shield. Since 1990, she has lived and worked in Omaha with St. Joseph’s Hospital and retired from UNMC Physicians.
Nadine enjoyed traveling with friends, especially cruises with her best friend Phyllis and Bob of 26 years. She was a proud aunt to ten nieces and nephews and now several great great nieces and nephews. A self-proclaimed historian for the family, Nadine had a lengthy account of the Sprakel and Wootton ancestries. Notably her independent nature and love of cats is how we will best remember her. Nadine will be missed by numerous family members and friends from the coast and Midwest as well as siblings: Richard (Rosie) Wootton of Yankton, SD; Julie (Larry) Wachholtz of Pierce, Neb.; Bernita (Pat) Whalen of Mesa, AZ; Ron Wootton of Elkhorn, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Hubert “Bert” Wootton.
VISITATION will be held on Wednesday, November 30th from 5-7PM at West Center Chapel with VIGIL SERVICE at 7PM.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Thursday, December 1st, 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church (15353 Pacific Street, Omaha, NE).
A Committal Service will be held graveside on December 2nd at 2 p.m. at Beaver Creek Cemetery in rural Crofton, Neb.

Sorry to hear about Nadine’s passing. I worked with her at UNMC Physicians for a number of years. My thoughts and prayers to her family. RIP Nadine!
I was so saddened to learn of Nadine’s passing. She was such a dear friend that I worked with in California for several years. She was truly a one-of-a-kind person who was so bright and fun to be with. After she moved to Omaha we met up several times over the years for martini’s and gambling in Reno. Such good times and wonderful conversations. I will miss her and her great spirit very much.
I am so sorry and very sad to learn of Nadine’s passing. She was my best friend during our junior and senior high school years. We were always together. I have so many good memories of our time together. Dragging main. Sleepovers. Donuts at Sunshine. Ice skating. Going to the beach. Going to Crofton with her Mom. She is the person who introduced me to my husband. She will be missed.
