Nadine Mary Wagner

Nadine Mary Wagner

February 8, 1947 – February 25, 2023

Nadine Wagner of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 25, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 8, 1947, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to Albert and Mary (Curry) Sabourin.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Rick Wagner; children: Jahna Leroux, Trevor (Julie) Wagner, and Joshua (Nerissa) Wagner. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Evan Leroux, Ethan Leroux, Alexa (Cole) Neville, Amanda Leroux, Meredith Wagner, Nate Wagner, and Olivia Wagner. Other survivors include her brother, Dennis Sabourin, and his wife, Michelle; her sister, Naomi Parker, and her companion, Ronald Johnson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Brian Sabourin and Gary Sabourin.

Nadine worked as a paraprofessional for the Omaha Public School district for many years. Her favorite things in life were family, the ocean, reading mysteries and true crime, and sharing her opinions. It will now be easier to get through to the mayor’s hotline.😊 As a devoted mother and grandmother, she always put family first, guiding her children and grandchildren through life by providing advice and counsel (Don’t forget; wet leaves are as slick as ice).

She always looked forward to the next family get-together, especially at the lake, where she loved being on the water.

She had an amazing memory and loved telling entertaining stories about her various adventures in life. She was and will always be remembered as a witty, brave, caring, nurturing, and generous wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

VISITATION: Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 3-5pm at West Center Chapel. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha, Nebraska.

Although we lived miles and miles apart, I learned so much from Nadine during the times we were able to visit. She taught me love for family, animals and others, just by the example she set. She will ALWAYS be remembered as a very wise, loving, caring person who fiercely loved her family. I love you Nadine and am so sad to say goodbye to my sister-in-law of 54 years

    Rick,
I am so sorry to hear this news. I was unaware of her health issues. I really wanted to come see you at this visitation today, but unfortunately, my health has taken a bit of a downward spiral, and I’m not able to stand/walk very much.
Please give your self and your children Super-Big-Tight hugs!!
    I’m so sorry.
