Nancy was born on March 12, 1938 in Omaha to Italian immigrants Salvatore and Angelina Salanitro.  She was the youngest of three children and attended Lincoln Elementary School and Central High School. Nancy and Tony were married at St. Philomena Church (St. Frances Cabrini) on July 18, 1959.  She loved everything Italian, was an avid Husker fan, and she could always be found in ‘Row J’ at the College World Series at Rosenblatt Stadium.  Aside from her devotion to family and friends, her true passion was cooking.  The door to her home was always open to everyone and you could smell the Italian food cooking before you even set foot on the porch.  She would feed you the moment that you walked in and you couldn’t walk out without taking food with you.  Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her never-ending energy and welcoming smile will be dearly missed.

To Nancy’s family: I am so sorry for your loss. May the many happy memories you shared together be of comfort to you in the days ahead. And may you find hope in God’s promise to soon undo ‘all tears, mourning, pain and even death’ Rev. 21:4. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
