Nancy Parrish

Nancy Parrish

October 23, 1943 – December 12, 2022

Nancy Parrish of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Ripley, West Virginia, passed away on December 12, 2022, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital.  She was a fighter, battling end-stage kidney disease and several other ailments until the end.

Nancy was the daughter of the late Orland and Mary Hughes of Ripley and was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace “Wally” Parrish, and son Wallace Lee Parrish II.  Surviving her are two sons, Marcus (husband John Porter) of Omaha and Michael (wife Kathy), and grandchildren, Micah and Eli, all of Charleston, WV.  Friends and relatives also include chosen family, the Mathenys: Annette (Oldaker), Roxy, Alvin, and Kevin.

She was feisty and high-spirited, loved shopping and thrifting for a good bargain, and was often the life of the party.  She wore many hats during her life, from cutting hair as a beautician to serving as a cook for restaurants, nursing homes, and more.

Her family would like to thank Lisa and the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care in Omaha for the excellent care they provided for Nancy during her journey with kidney disease and dialysis.

A celebration of life for friends and family in West Virginia will be planned for a later date.

Nancy was “my big sis”. We always had so much fun together and shared many laughs. So blessed that we got to visit last summer. We will miss her so very much. A leaf has fallen from family tree!
