Thomas J. Nastase, Jr. Sep 26, 1939 – Sep 2, 2015 Tom was born in Omaha in 1939. His family lived by Nano’s Grocery Store on South 13th Street. The Nastase Family moved to North Omaha and Tom attended Minne Lusa Grade School. He had two older brothers, Sam and Andy, and three younger siblings, Frank (deceased,) Kathie Utterback and Jerry. He went on to North High, graduating in 1958. While at North he played football, the first love of his life. After high school he went to Chicago to DeVri Electronics School for 12 months. He had many stories about living with five guys in an upstairs apartment. He married the second love of his life, Mary. They had four children; Shari, Christopher, Daniel and Brian. Then he moved the family to Fort Worth, Texas for five and a half years. With no relatives there, the children grew up quickly. Tom and Mary had two more children, Tommy and Ray. Ray passed away in 1998 while at college. Tom was a salesman most of his adult life, from electronics to refrigerators and finally roofing products. Tom got Multiple Sclerosis in 1988. He also made a Cursillo that year. The Santa Lucia Festival was a big part of his life. He was treasurer and Honorary President. He loved selling and cooking Italian sausage and pepper sandwiches. As the years progressed, so did his M.S., and he declined until he passed away on September 2, 2015. Tom was preceded in death by son, Ray; brother, Frank. He is survived by wife, Mary C. Nastase; children: Shari A. Didulo (Iggy), Chris T. Nastase (Lora), Daniel W. Nastase (Theresa), Brian J. Nastase (Colleen), and Tommy J. Nastase; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, September 4th, from 5pm to 7pm, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm, all at the West Center Chapel. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, September 5th at 10am at St. James Catholic Church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials will be directed by the family.
