Nellie J. (Henderson) Charleson Nellie June (Henderson) Charleson, age 90 of Logan, Iowa passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the Westmont Care Center in Logan, Iowa. Nellie was born November 28, 1918 in Logan, Iowa to Erwin Estes and Irene Bertha (Pearson) Henderson. She attended school in Logan and graduated in 1936. She was married to James L. Charleson June 5, 1937 in Glenwood, Iowa. Nellie was employed at Harveys Grocery in Logan for twenty-two years retiring in 1980. Nellie was a member of the Christian Church in Logan and she enjoyed traveling, gardening and flowers. James passed away February 10, 1991. Survivors include her sons: Larry Charleson and special friend Mary Barney of Logan, Iowa; James Charleson and wife Connie of Loveland, Colorado; grandson: Scott Charleson and wife Melody of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Wendi Libby and husband Alan of Oregon City, Oregon; six great-grandchildren; brother: Jack Henderson of Glenwood, Iowa; sisters: Dorothy Thompson of Omaha, Nebraska; Bonnie Frahm of Blair, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews and friends. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, husband James L. in 1991, sisters, Lois Rice, Donna Janssen, Darlene Ball, grandson, Lonnie M. Charleson in 2005. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Christian Church in Logan following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Logan Fire and Rescue Department.
