Hansl, Nikolaus R., Ph.D. Oct 24, 1923 Nov 2, 2011 Omaha, NE. Dr. Nikolaus R. Hansl was born in Weiner Neustadt, Austria to Rudolf and Luise Hansl. He attended school in Steyr, Austria and received his Ph.D. from the University of Vienna. He completed his post-doctoral education at Harvard University. Nikolaus taught at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and at the University of California in Santa Barbara. He was a professor of biochemistry, pharmacology, and medicinal chemistry at the Creighton University School of Pharmacy in Omaha, NE for many years until his retirement in 1984. He was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, where he had served on the Parish Council. A participating member of the Joslyn Art Museum, his passions were scientific research and art. Nikolaus was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Liesl Bertagnolli of 801 Eisenhower Dr., Rock Springs, WY 82901; granddaughter, Amari Bertagnolli; grandson, Anthony Hiltner; former wife, Adele Bertagnolli. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Rock Springs, WY. Memorials are suggested to Christ the King Parish, 654 S. 86 St., Omaha 68124.
