Nora (Sullivan) Kochenderfer

KOCHENDERFER, Nora Marie (Sullivan), passed away peacefully on Sep 24, 2009. Nora was born August 2, 1912, in Reno, Nevada, to Eugene Sullivan and Helen Langan Sullivan. She spent her childhood traveling the west while her father built highways. She settled in Greeley, Nebraska, during her teens. Following high school, she attended finishing school in Omaha, and returned to Greeley and taught school. On October 9, 1933, she married Neil Kochenderfer and settled in Omaha. Neil and Nora had two daughters, Karen and Karla. They were members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Mrs. Kochenderfer was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Neil in 1954, daughter Karen Crook in 1970, son-in-law John Crook in 2008, and daughter Karla Anderson and son-in-law Robert Anderson in 2009. Survivors include three granddaughters, Kahla (Mike) Atkinson of Colorado Springs, and Ariann Anderson and Erin Anderson of Omaha, four grandsons, Kevin Crook, Christopher Crook and Kirk (Cathy) Crook of Chicago, and Connell (Darla) Crook of Salt Lake City, and 12 great-grandchildren. Nora loved her grandchildren, the arts, Ireland, Notre Dame football and Omaha Knights hockey. She was a fascinating woman who led a full life. The family would like to thank Diane Hernandez and her staff for the special care given to Nora. A special thank you to Betty Eckley for her unwavering faith and support.
