I was blessed to meet Olivia in the halls of Duchesne Academy. What an amazing, accomplished, generous, beautiful and kind woman she was. My thoughts and prayers are with Jeff, Caroline and the rest of Olivia’s family. It was always obvious that she loved you all so much!

I first met Olivia when we both began our legal studies at the University of Nebraska Law School, in 1973. We were the only Latino students in the entire student body of over 300. She was the first student who approached me in friendship and fellowship. Everyone, and I mean everyone at the school, loved her. I was privileged and honored to be selected as her older son’s padrino at his confirmation. I will always have the fondest memories of her and her ability to juggle single motherhood, the burdens of law school, and the professionalism she carried herself with. She is a wonderful, beautiful soul. Vaya con Dios Olivia.

I worked with Olivia many years ago. I remember her intelligence, and mostly remember her wonderful laugh. One day at work someone had created a business letter that didn’t sound professional. Olivia read it out loud while walking through our department and her hearty laugh made all of us laugh. Blessings to Olivia’s family. May she rest in peace.
