Karen A. Owens Jan 24, 1936 – Sep 5, 2016 Karen Ann Hansen Owens, age 80, lost her courageous battle on Monday, September 5th at the Josie Harper Residence-Hospice House. To the end, Karen continued to think of others first and to focus on her strengthher family and her faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Anna Marie Chrissie Hansen. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Jack Howard Owens; son and daughter-in-law, William and Heidi Owens of Ottumwa, Iowa and granddaughters: Meredith Sly (Mike), Hannah, Caroline; son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Cheryl Owens of Seymour, Tennessee and granddaughters, Farryn and Rebekah. The family will receive friends Friday, September 9th, from 5pm to 7pm, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm, all at the Bel Air Chapel, 12100 W. Center Rd. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, September 10th at 10am at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 11802 Pacific Street. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, National Eating Disorder Association, or National Down Syndrome Society.
