Patricia Ann Woody

Patricia Ann Woody, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Josie Harper Hospice House. Previously, Patricia had been cared for by a dedicated staff at Via Christe Assisted Living. Family member Elizabeth Flaherty was a source of special comfort.
Patricia was born on October 27, 1930 in Atlantic, Iowa to Gertrude and Leo McMahon. She was the youngest of nine children: Robert, Lothaire, Catherine, Mary, William, Joanne, Helen, and Colleen. As a young girl, Patricia lived in Adair and Carroll, Iowa.
She was a 1949 graduate of St. Angela’s Academy—now Kuemper High School. Soon after graduation, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska. It was in Patricia’s positions as Dean’s Secretary at Creighton Medical School and as lead secretary at her brother Bob’s company, O.K. Electric, that her style for efficiency was showcased.
Patricia enjoyed cooking, gardening, Broadway musicals and long phone conversations with her dear friends, Ladonna Harper and Renate Sindt. After retirement, Patricia spent most of her time loving and caring for her grandchildren.
Patricia was wife to decorated Army veteran, Troy J.Woody; caregiver to her beloved brother, Bill McMahon; mother to her only surviving daughter, Colleen Ann Monson. Patricia joyfully reunites with her daughter, Karen Patricia, who died as a young child. Survivors include her son-in-law, Steve Monson, and grandchildren: Bridget, David, Maureen, and Patrice. Patricia thought warmly of her extended family, many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 21st from 6pm to 7pm, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm at the Bel Air Chapel, 12100 W. Center Rd. FUNERAL MASS Saturday, April 22nd at 10am at St. Cecilia Cathedral (701 N. 40th St.) Private Interment, Calvary Cemetery.
