Patricia M. Tuttle

Feb 23, 1932 – Jan 23, 2017

Mrs. Patricia Tuttle, died peacefully on January 23, 2017 at Omaha’s Josie Harper Hospice House with her family at her bedside. Patricia was born February 23, 1932 in Verdigre, Nebraska, the daughter of James P. Marron and Alice Sabatka Marron.

Patricia was a long time resident of Omaha.  She attended Saint John’s High School and graduated in 1950. She had maintained many close friendships from that time. Patricia attended Creighton University for one year in 1951 and recalled this as one of the happiest times of her life. She remained an active alumna and an avid Blue Jay basketball supporter throughout her life.

Pat worked for over 20 years at Creighton University in various administrative positions. During this time she continued her education, earning a Bachelor (1982) and Masters of Science in Social Work degree (1987) while working full time and independently raising 4 daughters.  Patricia was also proud to be a long-time member of Creighton University’s Graybackers Club.

Throughout her life Patricia was active in various social and political causes.  She was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church and served the parish in several capacities throughout the years. She was very passionate about service to the community and social justice and particularly the homeless, working with the Holy Family Door Ministry and performing volunteer work at Francis House.

Finally, Patricia had a love of nature in any form. She frequently walked at DeSoto Bend and Boyer Chute where nothing excited her more than the sighting of an eagle or a flock of sand hill cranes flying overhead. Her excursions became less frequent during these past few years as Alzheimer’s disease limited her ability to enjoy many of her previous passions.

Patricia is survived by her four daughters: Therese Chambers (with children Jennifer, Zachary and Kathleen all of Seattle with great grandchildren Nora, Nolan and June); Ellen Tuttle (with daughters Amelia and Anna of Tucson); Sara Tuttle Hanzlik (with children Kenneth, Ashley and Nichole of Blair and Valley with great grandchild Elizabeth) and Catherine Angleton (with daughters Maria and Rebecca of Tucson and Flagstaff with great grandchildren Luis, Ramses and Moses). Patricia is also survived by her sister, Nancy Fell (Jerseyville). Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Kay Marron Simon; and brother, Thomas Marron.

The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 27th, 3pm to 5pm, with VIGIL SERVICE at 5pm at the Bel Air Chapel. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, Jan. 28th, 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1715 Izard St. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Holy Family Door Ministry, 1715 Izard Street, Omaha, NE 68102, www.holyfamilyomaha.org/door-ministry/.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Pat’s passing. I have many fond memories of visiting the Tuttles in Omaha; I especially remember some great Thanksgiving dinners, playing with the piano and hide and seek upstairs. Aunt Pat was a great person and its comforting to know Christ has welcomed her into heaven.

My deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother. Remembering all the times we came down and stayed with you when we were kids. I wish I would have been able to come down with Mom to the funeral, but work prevents that right now.

My thoughts and prayers to all of you. Your mom was a pillar and a beautiful woman.
