Patricia Maureen “Mo” Brady

Patricia Maureen “Mo” Brady

June 24, 1933 – November 24, 2024

Patricia Maureen “Mo” Brady, 91 of Omaha, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024.

She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 24, 1933, the youngest of three daughters born to Jack and Rose {Galvin) Brady. Mo’s older sisters were Rosemary Fitzgibbons and Rita Mae Brady. Mo and Rita never married, but played an active role in raising their nine nieces and nephews, leaving them countless happy stories to tell and remember.

Mo attended Saint Margaret Mary’s Grade School, Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Education from Creighton University. Her forty-year teaching career was spent teaching second grade through sixth grade at Beals Elementary School. There, she touched the lives of countless children and cherished visits from former students.

Mo had a very dry and sharp wit throughout her life. She had a gift for including others, and making them feel welcome. One never felt alone when in her company. She had a passion for the arts, reading, and her Irish heritage. She was a strong supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and Boys Town.

Mo was preceded in death by her parents; sisters; brother-in-law, Dr. John Fitzgibbons; and nephew, Retired USN Commander Raymond J. Hood.

Mo is survived by nine nieces and nephews; 18 great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

She lived her life for others and will be missed now and forever.

Miss Brady was my 5th grade teacher at Beals almost 50 years ago . She was the kindest and best educator I had. Rest in Peace, Miss Brady. You will be sorely missed.
