VISITATION: Wednesday, May 15th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel.  FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, May 16th at 10:30am, Dundee Presbyterian Church, 5312 Underwood.  Graveside Service with Military Honors: Thursday, 1:30pm at Omaha National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Dundee Presbyterian Church and Vietnam Veterans.

Beloved husband of Sultan Burgess, originally from Izmir Turkey, whom he married on December 7, 1984. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Michael Allen Burgess of Houston, Texas; Melanie Burgess Gahan (Glen Gahan) of Omaha and their children: Olivia Gahan of Chicago, Elise and Dustin Sheinberg of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Reid and Sara Gahan of Lincoln, Nebraska, Angela Gahan of Omaha; Paul Darren Burgess (Kelly Burgess) of Navarre, Florida and their children: Ashlyn and Ray Hicks of Navarre, Aubrie and Ronnie Cassady of Pensacola, Florida, and Alison and Anthony Brockhum of Columbus, Georgia; six great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Burgess and Hayes Burgess.

Paul served 33 years in the US Air Force, retiring in 1993 as Chief Master Sergeant. During his years of service, he was stationed in Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Viet Nam, Spain, New Mexico, Turkey, Nebraska, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Berlin, Germany. Paul was on the last flight out of Berlin after shutting down the US military base after the Berlin Wall came down. After retiring from the Air Force, he took a position with Al Salam Aircraft in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia before retiring to Omaha, NE in 2004.

    We are so sorry for your loss of Mr Burgess we will miss his visits to the old spring he carried water from to the house when a child , the last time here he cried because his trees were
    Going to be cut due to disease we will miss him
