Paul Wayne Haggas

Paul Wayne Haggas

Born: December 1, 1947 – Providence, Rhode Island

Entered into Rest: February 18, 2021 – Winter Haven, Florida

After a short but courageous battle with coronavirus, Paul passed peacefully away knowing Angela was with him as they walked hand and hand to heaven.  Paul will be remembered for his infectious smile, his social ease, and his hope that everyone around him was having fun.  Paul proudly served in the Air Force; after his honorable discharge from military service, Paul achieved a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.  He spent his entire professional career in the travel industry.  Nothing made Paul feel more successful than putting together memorable and exciting travel experiences for his customers.

In 1969 Paul met Sheila Griep; they were wed on March 7, 1970, making their home in Omaha and Papillion before retiring to Florida in 2017.  Paul was a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Nebraska Cornhuskers.  He liked to golf, travel, and play cards, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Theresa and Herbert; beloved daughter, Angela Kruszynski (Rich).  He is survived by his wife, Sheila; sons: Michael (Jennifer), Tom (Lisa), Andy, Joseph, and Paul (Abby); brother, Glen; sisters, Gail and Stella; and his greatest treasure, thirteen grandchildren who will greatly miss their “Papa.”

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Friday, July 30th at 11:15am at St. Cecilia Cathedral, 701 N. 40th St.  Interment with military honors at Resurrection Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart or St. Cecilia Cathedral.
