Peggy A. Roby

Peggy A. Roby

Feb 13, 1942 – Feb 28, 2018

Peggy Ann Cudjo Roby was born on February 13, 1942 to the “union” of Morris Cudjo, Sr. and “Bessie” Woodley in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was the ninth of fifteen children born to this union. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Roby Jr; by her father and mother; nine brothers: Andrew, Lee Ander, Morris, Benjamin, Walter, Julious, Louis, Ralph and Willard; two sisters: Elzora and Evelyn.  She attended and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1959.

Peggy was married on Saturday the third of April 1963 to George Roby Jr. an Air Force Airman that she met on a visit to North Dakota. They traveled all over the world as an Air Force family, visiting Spain, Canada, Mexico and many other exciting places. Once settled down in Omaha, Peggy went to work for VLASIC FOODS INTERNATIONAL in 1984, retiring in 2001. Peggy was a fun-loving sprit who loved to bowl (a member of the 600 club), play bingo, and go to the casino. Throughout her life Peggy had a green thumb, not only nurturing two fine children but a host of plants in the house and the garden. Peggy’s grandchildren were her heart and joy. There’s no denying that her grandbabies, as she called them, were the people that she loved the most.

On February 28, 2018, Peggy departed this life peacefully to be with her Lord. Peggy leaves to cherish her memory: two children, son Gregory L. Roby, and daughter, Gaila L. Roby Olsen; three sisters: Hazel Cudjo, Lois Cudjo, and Pauline Cudjo; three grandchildren: Kendrick Roby, Darrian Roby, and Nachia Olsen; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 8th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel.  SERVICES Friday, March 9th at 9am at the West Center Chapel.  Interment, Friday at 11am at Omaha National Cemetery.
