Peggy J. Dugick
May 27, 1938 – December 29, 2023
Peggy Jane Dugick. Age 85, was surrounded by those who loved her as she passed through the gates of Heaven on December 29, 2023, in Omaha, Nebraska. Peggy was born on May 27, 1938 to Alice Jane Hansen. She spent her career in Communications at Methodist Hospital, Clarkson Hospital, and eventually retired from Union Pacific Railroad. She spent her retirement working part time at Kohl’s department store in the Jewelry department. Her coworkers at Kohl’s embodied a true “work family” for Peggy. She genuinely loved continuing to work after she left the Railroad and often shared that her part time job “kept her young and active”.
She always enjoyed a really good sale. Being at Kohl’s allowed her to add to her large collection of accessories and socks while taking advantage of the best savings known to mankind. After 20 years with Kohl’s she hung up the early morning alarm clock and once again retired from the workforce.
Peggy’s crown jewel was her family that she so dearly loved. As her family grew, so did the amount of love she poured into her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was tremendously proud of her family. Her life’s work consisted mostly of making each one of the kids feel truly loved, encouraged, valued, and special. She had an amazing gift for relationships and people. She was a true social butterfly and was always her happiest surrounded by family and friends. Her circle of friends was vast and deep. Her closest friends were relationships that were decades old and spanned generations. She was an “other mother” to many that she loved as her own.
All who knew and loved her were undoubtedly familiar with her love of lemons, daisies, sunshine, Lifesaver mints, and Virginia Slims. Her memory and life will be cherished forever by all who knew and loved her, but mostly by her dear family, who embodied everything that she loved the most and was immensely proud of.
Peggy is preceded in death by her mother, Alice Hansen; and brother, Gerry Hansen. She is lovingly survived by her children and spouses: Susan Dugick, Steven Dugick, Gary (Laura) Dugick, and Karen (Kyle) Manhart-Anderson; grandchildren: Aaron (Kelsey) Dugick, Eric Dugick, Ryan (Jordan) Dugick, Brent (Brittany) Dugick, Nick (Shelby) Manhart, Evan Manhart, Matthew Dugick (fiance Samantha Vacek), Julia Manhart, Grant Manhart, Lexi Anderson, Maci Anderson; great-grandchildren, Adalyn Dugick and Luke Dugick; former spouse, Frank Dugick; sister, Norma Morehouse; nephew and niece, David (Diana) Gash, Debra (Joel) Hookham.
VISITATON: Wednesday, January 3, 2024, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., followed by MEMORIAL SERVICE at 10:30 a.m., at West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd.
Memorials will be directed by the family.

Sincere condolences to Peggy’s family. I first met Peggy years ago at Bourbon Street (90th & Center) where there was live music on the weekends & we both lived to dance. She was a much better at it than me! Then I also knew her at UP where I worked & also retired from.
Keep on dancing Peggy!
