Peter C. Kinnick

KINNICK, Peter C. June 30, 1953 – September 5, 2014 Peter C. Kinnick passed away on September 5, 2014 near Telluride Colorado while doing one of the many things he loved to do, hiking in the mountains. His generous heart simply gave out. Peter was an adventurer, a world traveler, a person with a consumptive thirst for history, knowledge and spirituality. He was a generous man of heart and spirit who brought together countless people from all parts of his life. Through Peter, strangers became friends. He was the consummate host, the open door, the conduit of friendships. His early death is a shock to all of who knew him and appreciated his distinctive manner. Never speaking a bad word, Peter always pursued his own interests without judgment of others and possessed a gentleness that evoked a different time. Peter was born on June 30, 1953, to George William Kinnick and Jean Pollock Kinnick. Peter was a graduate of Westside High School and Colgate University. In addition to Omaha and Telluride, Peter loved spending time in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, his farm in Iowa and on golf courses both here and abroad. He was preceded in death by both his mother and father. He leaves behind his beloved sister, Betsy Kinnick; his chosen family: Anne Moffatt, and his daughter, Ally Moffatt, his aunt Jody (Pollock) Pringle and numerous Lake Geneva relatives. Peter also leaves behind countless friends whom he loved and who loved him. A celebration of life and memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Further details to follow. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a memorial of your choice.
