Phillip L. Fitch

Phillip L. Fitch, age 82, of Mondamin, Iowa, passed away on June 23, 2016 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Phillip was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 28, 1933 to Thomas (Stepfather) and Alta Mae (Shelton) Meloccaro. Phillip served in the Marines and Army. He married Kay (Spring) Fitch on April 10, 1953 in New Kirk, Oklahoma. Phillip worked at UNMC for 15 years in Omaha, Nebraska as a Director of Animal Research. He also worked as a Safety Director at United AG.. He enjoyed fishing, boating, raising dogs, and camping. Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three brothers. Survivors include his wife Kay Fitch of Mondamin, Iowa, children: Debra Watters and husband Gif of Mondamin, Iowa, Gary Fitch and wife Terri of LaVista, Nebraska, Linda Butterfield and husband JR. of Tekamah, Nebraska, grandkids: Jeremy, Shane, Eric, Larry, Jennifer, Nicole, Shawn, Tara, Nicole, Charlotte, Kenny, nine great grandkids, many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 9 at 12:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Pastor Wayne Bahr will be officiating. Music Selections will be ”Amazing Grace”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Remember When”, “My Way”. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship to the Fellowship Community Center Hall in Modale, Iowa immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be addressed to Kay Fitch or a charity of your choice. Military Honors will be conducted by Julius F. Muller American Legion Post #337. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kay Fitch or a charity of your choice. A full Obituary will be posted at a later date
