Lorraine B. Phillips Oct. 27, 1926 Dec. 19, 2015 Lorraine passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was a loving mom and grandmother, sister and friend. She was born in Columbus, Nebraska on October 27, 1926. She raised her family in Bloomington, Illinois, and served on many boards including the Bloomington normal transit board in which she implemented the bus service for disabled and handicapped. She moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1986 to live closer to her family. Preceded in death by mother and father, Walter and Sophie Burzynski; husband, David J Phillips; brother, Fr. John Kent; sisters: Gloria Daughtery, Rita Ballantine, and Rosalie Begley. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Steve Gevercer; grandsons: Ben, Jonah and Matthew Gevercer; son, John Phillips (Terri Pruitt): grandchildren, Megan Phillips (Joel Wunderlich), and Cody Phillips; sister, Jane Langan (Bernard); numerous beloved nieces and nephews. VISITATION will be held Tuesday, December 22nd from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at New Cassel Retirement Center, 900 North 90th Street, Omaha, NE, followed by VIGIL SERVICE and Rosary at 7:00 p.m. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held on Wednesday, December 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at New Cassel Retirement Center. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to New Cassel Foundation.
