Chester J. “Chet” Plewa Jul 25, 1925 – Sep 6, 2016 Preceded in death by loving wife of 59 years, Jessie (Rodman) Plewa; parents, Joseph and Josephine; sister, Bernice Niczay; brothers, Ted and Joe. Survived by special pet, Gigi III; many nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews; many friends. Mr. Plewa worked for Boys Town for 26 years, retiring as Principal of Vocational Career Center. He received his education at University of Nebraska at Omaha, successfully achieving three degrees. A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus (Fourth Degree), Boys Town National Alumni Association, VFW and American Legion. VISITATION begins Monday, September 12th at 10am at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, followed by MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 11am at the church. Interment Monday, 2pm, Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Iowa with military honors by Benson VFW Post 2503. Memorials are suggested to Boys Town National Alumni Scholarship Fund.
