Polly A. Wacker
August 2, 1952 – December 24, 2019
Polly Ann Wacker (Henderson) was born August 2, 1952, in St. Francis, Kansas to Glen and Dulcie Henderson (Rath). Her siblings: are Glenda (Jerry) Wetherbee of Harlingen, Texas, Billy Ray (deceased), Danny (Penny) Henderson of South Padre, Texas, Charlotte (Martin) Hilt of St. Francis, Kansas, Gaye (Mike) Bowles of Bakersfield, California, and Cindy (Alan) Roths of Ransom, Kansas. Polly was baptized September 21, 1952, and confirmed in faith June 19, 1966, both at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Francis, Kansas. Polly graduated from St. Francis Community High School May 20, 1970.
Polly Ann married Herbert Lee Wacker on June 6, 1970 at Zion Lutheran Church, St. Francis, Kansas, and moved to Beatrice, Nebraska, where they lived happily together in the same home for over 47 years until they moved to Ralston, Nebraska two years ago. During that time, they raised three children together: Rodney (Darla – deceased, Jewel) Wacker of Lincoln, Nebraska, Stacy (Howard) Wagoner of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jason (Amy) Wacker of Longwood, Florida. She is the proud Grandma of three grandchildren: Matthew Wagoner, and Jaden and Shaely Wacker.
Her in-laws include: Henry and Ella Wacker (Meier) (both deceased), Delores (Chet – deceased) Dietz of Riverside, California, Leonard (deceased) (Darlene) Wacker of Fairbury, Nebraska, Eldora (Roger) Lewein of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Elta (Bill – deceased) Lewein of Beatrice, Nebraska. She also had numerous loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Polly worked at the Beatrice State Developmental Center for over 21 years, and then at Parkview Center Nursing Home in Beatrice for over 9 years.
Polly was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease at the age of 62 and passed away at her home on December 24, 2019, Christmas Eve. She will be truly missed, but also genuinely celebrated for the life she shared with so many. Peace, love and joy be with you always, Polly.
Family will receive friends Sunday, December 29th from 6pm to 8pm, at the West Center Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, December 30th, 10am, Messiah Lutheran Church (5015 S 80th St.) GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Monday, December 30th, 2pm, Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Memorials will be shared with the Nebraska Alzheimer’s Association along with her church family at Messiah Lutheran in Ralston.
