LaVaune Glasnapp
June 26, 1927 – April 4, 2021
Omaha, NE-The former Ringsted, Iowa resident passed away at age 93 in Elkhorn, Nebraska. LaVaune was born on a farm in Wallingford, Iowa to Viola (Gilbert) and Sam Natterstad.
On June 1, 1951 LaVaune married Allen Glasnapp in Wallingford, IA. They started their married life farming near Ringsted, IA they raised three children. She participated in many community groups and activities, and was an active member of United Lutheran Church in Ringsted. She especially enjoyed singing in the church choir and the Women’s Circle groups. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, baking, playing cards and visiting with friends.
LaVaune and Allen owned and operated a flooring business, Allen’s Floor Covering for 35 years in Ringsted.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Allen, two brothers and a sister-in-law. She is survived by her sons, Keith (Sue) Glasnapp of Del Ray Beach, Florida, Mark (Mary) Glasnapp of Grand Marais, Minnesota; daughter, Leanne (Jonathan) Paetz of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren Douglas (Lindsay) of Fort Worth, Texas, Christopher (Victoria) of Renton, Washington, Adam of Omaha, Nebraska, Alex of Grand Marais, Minnesota, Joseph of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Olivia of Omaha, Nebraska; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Ringsted at a later date.
