Ramon L. Nasr
September 16, 1933 – November 15, 2018
Ramon Lee Nasr, a.k.a. Ray Stevens, passed away on November 15, 2018 in hospice at Valley, Nebraska, leaving his wife of thirty years, Maxine; son, Steven Nasr (Karen); daughter, Kristina White (Curt); stepson, Greg Johnson (Aster); stepdaughter, Sandra Moore; grandchildren: Jason Nasr (Lori), Amy Nasr-Weiss (Dave), J.J. Nasr (Christine), Christian Nasr (Angie), Traci Wanca (Michael), and Tony Ruzicka; eleven great-grandchildren.
Ray was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 16, 1933. He was preceded in death by mother, Evelyn Petrika; father, Philip Nasr; and stepson, Jack R. Parker. Ray was a graduate of Creighton Prep and attended UCLA in California, and UNL at Omaha. Before retiring he was known for his work at KFAB Radio, voice-overs, and stage plays. In the Army he was with the Armed Forces Radio in Alaska. In the 1960s and 1970s Ray was a news caster with KETV, WOWT, and KMTV. In the 1980s he had a talk show on PBS in Lincoln; his last movie was Nebraska.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Monday, November 19th at 11am at the West Center Chapel. Inurnment: Bohemian Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #1. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Parkinson’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
