Ramona A. Christensen

March 27, 1937 – December 11, 2023

Ramona Christensen was the only child of Doris Davidson and William Raymond Severson, born March 27, 1937, in Long Beach, California.  She spent her early childhood in Santa Monica, and at age 11 moved to Soldier, Iowa, to live on her grandparent’s farm. She graduated from Soldier High School in May of 1954.

On August 7, 1954, she married Roger Christensen in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at Central Lutheran Church. Later in 1954, Roger and Ramona located to Sioux City, Iowa, after his discharge from the Army, where they raised their two children. Roger and Ramona were married for 56 years and enjoyed traveling in both the USA and abroad. Ramona was a homemaker and enjoyed decorating their home, sewing, reading books, gardening and spending time with the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents; and her half-brother, Michael Prefke. Ramona is survived by daughter, Sheree Hamilton, son, Brian Christensen and wife, Sue; grandsons: Jason, Todd and Sean Christensen; granddaughter, Alexandra Bosza (Nathan) and great-grandsons: Dylan and Lincoln Christensen and Walker Bosza.

In lieu of flowers,  Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association.

 FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, December 16, 2023, 3:00 p.m. at the West Center Chapel.
