Randall Wayne Convey
March 5, 1964- May 16, 2024
Randy was born March 5, 1964, in Omaha. He passed away May 16, 2024, from complications due to cancer.
A lifelong Omaha resident, Randy attended Minne Lusa elementary and graduated the 8th Grade from Mount Calvary Lutheran School. His natural mechanical aptitude led him to Omaha Technical High School, where he focused on auto mechanics. From a very young age, Randy took things apart to see how they worked. As he grew, he learned how to put them back together. His life was dedicated to auto mechanics, and he was one of the very best. He was one of the hardest workers ever. Randy cherished every minute he had at his trailer at Lake Platteview and did not let the 2019 flood deter him.
He was an avid cyclist. In his younger days, he enjoyed going on bike rides with his friends and grilling Cornish game hens at the end of their ride. In addition to bicycles, Randy loved NASCAR. He was a devoted fan and attended as many races as possible. When alcoholism tried to destroy him, he fought back and had 14+ years of sobriety at the time of his passing. His sobriety was the focus of his life, and he never gave that up. He fought cancer valiantly, but it finally got the best of him.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanie and Tom Convey. He is survived by his long-time girlfriend Jeanie Huntzinger, daughter, Sarah Hedrick (Chris), brother, Ron Convey (Lora), sisters Teri Heinen (Shannon) and Sheri Gustavson (Lee) and grandchildren, Zane Convey, Dean Hedrick and Emma Hedrick.
A celebration of Randy’s life will take place on June 9th at Perry’s Place Bar, 9652 Mockingbird Drive, Omaha from 1:00-5:00 PM.
Come and hang out with all of Randy’s friends and family and reminisce about all the JOY Randy brought to each of us.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Randy will be missed by everyone at Lake Platteview. He was one of a kind, genuine and was always willing to help anyone out.
Randy was a nice guy, I I have known him for the 20 years. He was always willing to help with projects on my cabin at Lake Platte view.. He had a new blonde joke for me every time I saw him. We used to argue about politics because it was fun. And neither one of us took it serious. May you rest in peace.
