July 4, 1962 – March 29, 2025

Randolph “Randy” Scott Figura, 62, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly due to complications after open heart surgery on Saturday, March 29, 2025. He was born on July 4, 1962, to Joseph and Irene Figura.

Randy was the youngest of six and was raised on the south side of the Chicago. After graduation from Hubbard High, Randy, known as “Figg”, began his career traveling west with his brother Ron through many states where he found his love of music and began running sound as an audio engineer. In 1987, while working in the audio industry in Nebraska, he met Tricia. Six years later, they got married and began having children. As a couple they enjoyed supporting their children’s various activities while frequently watching cross country and track meets, lacrosse games, show choir competitions, musicals, orchestra concerts, all while maintaining a strong family life. Spending time grilling, playing board games and watching hockey and football (Go Hawks!) were his favorite pastimes. Randy and Tricia are active in the life of the Church. They have been members of St. Stephen the Martyr for over 30 years, as well as supporters of the Archdiocese of Omaha.

Randy is survived by his wife, Tricia Figura of Omaha; children: Allyson (Reyn), Joseph, Michael, and Andrew Figura, all of Omaha; brothers: Robert (Boni), Ronald, and Raymond; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Irene; and his siblings, Barbara and Rachel.

I can’t even express the sorrow I feel for you and your family. I feel so blessed that Tricia and I were able to reconnect through St. Stephen the Martyr School after having so many great childhood memories together. This is how I met Randy. He was always smiling and the first person to lend a hand. Everyone just knew Randy because he always made an impression on everyone he met. I am praying for all of you as you mourn such a huge loss, but I also know your great faith will live you up through this time.
Love to all of you- Julie

Tricia I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Fig. I remember meeting Fig when I was barely 19 years old when he was running sound for my brother’s band (Scarlett Page). Such a great guy. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

  • Joe Ravenscroft Posted April 5, 2025 1:18 pm

Thanks to Figg for helping me and so many musicians who were finding their way back in the day.
For making our bands sound better than any time we’d ever played.
For being the consummate diplomat in times of dispute,  whether on stage, preliminary arrangements, or any time before or after an event, anywhere.
Randy always made it a point to say that what was going on in our personal lives was way more important than the event we were supporting, no matter how famous the act.
He observed and tempered the inflated egos of talented artists big and small, because he knew the importance of family and friends, and I only wish he could be here still to show more people that living life was more important than Stardom.
My condolences to the Figura family-
Rest in Peace, my friend Figg.

My sympathy is with you and the Figura family. I was very much saddened when I learned of Randy’s passing. Growing up in that little neighborhood of ours, Randy was almost like a little brother of mine. Always friendly, with something good or funny to say. I will miss and always remember him. My condolence, thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I was lucky to have known and to have grown up with Randy and your family as I did.
