Raymond J. Agosta

Raymond J. Agosta

August 4, 1938 – November 1, 2024

Raymond Jon “Ray” Agosta entered into eternal life on November 1, 2024 in Omaha, Nebraska after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Rose Agosta. He is survived by his loving life partner, Annette Twiford; son, Raymond (Monica); daughters: Amy Sievers (Charlie), Tammi Agosta, Terri Czarnyszka (Todd), Bobbi Jo Cheek (Tom), and Connie Guzman, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ray was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Raymond and Rose Agosta on August 4, 1938. Unfortunately, Ray’s father passed away when Ray was only 4 years old, but he was raised by his devoted mother, Rosie, along with a very close extended family.  He learned the importance and true meaning of “family” at a very young age and his value of family continued throughout his entire life.  He was an extremely devoted and proud father/grandfather and loved his family to the fullest capacity. Also, Ray had many great friends with strong life-long relationships.

Ray graduated from Omaha Central High School. Following high school Ray started his career in sales at Sterling Distributing followed by a sales role at Jubilee Manufacturing. To best provide for his young family, Ray would also work evenings and weekends doing home repairs and remodels. He was a very talented craftsman and handyman and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Ray finished his career as owner of a home inspection business for over 20 years, in which he truly enjoyed helping customers and family members. After retirement, Ray’s high energy and active lifestyle always kept him working on a home remodel or project, for this is what kept him happy and content.

Sharing his life with Annette, spending time with family and friends, cooking Italian food, family dinner gatherings and celebrations were some of Ray’s favorite past times. His favorite places to travel were Lake of the Ozarks and Italy. Recently, he enjoyed going with his son Ray, best friend John, and nephew Ronnie, to his first NFL game to see the Kansas City Chiefs play.

Memorials are suggested to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church (please mark as “Ray’s Wish” for the addition of a stained-glass window in the sanctuary).

    Dear Agosta Family,

So sorry to hear of Ray’s passing. Even after my dad (Al) died in 1996, I thought of Ray and his friendship with my dad.

Sending prayers of comfort and peace,
    Gerianne (Buda) Jensen

My prayers go out to the family. I participated with various sports with Ray at Central High. I was in the class of 1957.

    Dear Agosta family,
    Deepest condolences for Ray’s passing.
It was so wonderful for Jaiden and me to spend time with him two summers ago. He showed us his wonderful video from his trip to Sicily. He made quite an impression on my son, Jaiden.
Just a great guy. God bless you.

    Love, Adrienne and family
