When we were about 12 we rescued a kitten with it’s ears frozen off. It was a blizzard and school was out so like a couple of good 12 year old’s we bundled up and went out walking around. We walked the length of the golf course then under the Papio Creek Bridge by Putt-Putt over to Midas and KFC. A big kitten came running out from behind some garbage cans right to us. I unzipped my coat and put her in. We named her Bundles and Ray took her home. We ran into each other decades later and Ray told me she’d been their cat for years and years. A person with a heart the size of Rays is deeply missed and mourned.
