Ray was born March 13, 1927, at home to George and Blanche (Struble) Huelskamp in Fowler, KS. Sadly, he passed away Feb. 24, 2024. He was one of four children. Raised in a strong Catholic home and a love for the Lord.

Growing up, Ray worked the farm along with his siblings. After high school, Ray joined the Army Air Corp and served 18 months during WWII. After his time in the service, he went on to further his education at Creighton University, graduating with a major in accounting. While at Creighton University he met Mary, his wife of 58 Years. Ray and Mary (McGroarty) were married, April 19, 1952. Their blessed union prospered 7 children, 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. When asked once about how it was to raise 7 children, Dad replied, “God wouldn’t give him a child he couldn’t provide for.” Ray was a devout Catholic, he put his children in Catholic schools and always attended daily mass.

Ray retired from NP Dodge as VP & Treasurer after 35 years. In his retirement Ray & Mary enjoyed traveling, running carpool for the grandchildren next door, and attending the grandkids sporting events. Ray was active in the Serra Club and one of the founding members of the West Omaha Serra Club. Ray also established the George and Blanche Huelskamp Scholarship Fund for seminarians at Conception College in Conception, MO.

His beloved wife Mary preceded him in death on July 14, 2010. He married Jeanne (Kutilek) on May 9, 2015. Jeanne was a devoted wife who gave him a new lease on life. Jeanne gave Ray an extended family consisting of 2 stepchildren, 11 step-grandchildren & 9 step-great grandchildren. We are grateful for all the extra years we had with our dad and feel blessed Jeanne was there to love and care for him.

As a last selfless act, Ray donated his body to Creighton University’s anatomical bequest program.

Dad, we know you are reunited with our loving mother now. Give her a kiss from us. You will be forever missed. Until we meet again.

Love,

Joe, Dan, Marian, Paul, JoAn, John & Jim

Ray was a great man and a wonderful mentor for many people who like I worked with him. I always appreciated his honesty and willingness to help me with anything that I needed to do my job. Ray was a pillar of the NP Dodge Company.

HELEN KELLER WROTE, “WHAT WE HAVE ONCE ENJOYED WE CAN NEVER LOSE. ALL THAT WE LOVE DEEPLY BECOMES A PART OF US.” MARIAN … AFTER READING YOUR FATHER’S OBITUARY AND AFTER KNOWING AND WORKING WITH YOU FOR SO MANY YEARS … YOU ARE DEFINITELY YOUR FATHER’S DAUGHTER, AND I KNOW THAT YOU HAVE YOUR MOTHER’S HEART. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY YOU GREW UP IN, AND WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY THAT YOU AND HERB HAVE MADE TOGETHER. I AM TRULY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS … YOU ARE IN MY HEART, THOUGHTS, AND PRAYERS. GOD BLESS! Ray was a wonderful man. We met him through Serra. He did so much good work – serving as treasurer for many years. He akways had a kind word to say. He was a humble, strong leader and will be missed.
