Rebecca J. “Becky” (Sievertsen) Lavelle
November 12, 1954- June 1, 2024
Born and raised in Omaha, Becky had fond memories of making lifelong friends in the Field Club neighborhood and spending time in Iowa with her numerous cousins. She graduated from Central High School and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Clarkson College. She married her best friend, Larry Lavelle, and gained the sisters and brothers she had always hoped to have, after growing up as an only child. Becky and Larry raised their children, Patrick and Anne, in the Hanscom Park neighborhood, where neighbors became family. She was an avid reader who loved sharing good books with friends. Becky enjoyed being outside in the yard tending to her flower beds, both in town and at the lake. Her fierce competitiveness paired with her acute attention to detail meant that you did not want to go up against her in any board game. At the College World Series, you could always find Becky in the bleachers at Rosenblatt or down the first base line at the “Chuck” with a funnel cake in one hand and a fresh lemonade in the other, rooting against any team with burnt orange in their colors. Most of all, she exemplified the best of qualities: unconditional love and an unrelenting generosity that could be seen in the care of her parents, husband, children, grandchildren, and friends.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Georgine Sievertsen; father- and mother-in-law, James and Margaret “Peggy” Lavelle; nephew, Jason Trummer. She is survived by her husband, Larry Lavelle; son, Patrick (Christa) Lavelle; daughter, Anne Lavelle (Adam Dear); grandchildren, Jalen and Alessandra Lavelle; brothers- and sisters-in law; and many nieces and nephews.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Larry. You and your family are in our prayers.
My heart felt condolences to you Larry and your family. Becky & her folks were my back yard neighbors there off 36st & Francis. She radiated a smile and friendliness I’ve never forgotten.. My favorite memory-I was a few years younger than Becky. She let me buy her childhood bike for $5!! It took forever to pay off as babysitting was 25 to 50 cents an hour! She was patient till full payment was rendered. I knew you from Paul VI and was happy you both found each other. Her love for each of you, lasts forever. May God bring you all the comfort and peace you need during this time of grief and loss. I hold you in my prayers.
Dearest Larry,Patrick and Anne,
I am so sorry for your loss.
Lost track of everyone over the years, but never would forget your family. Sending you love, strength and faith.
