Renelda “Nelda” Molacek

October 4, 1931 – January 9, 2023

Renelda “Nelda” Molacek received her heavenly reward on Monday, January 9, passing after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Nelda was born on October 4, 1931, in Humphrey, Nebraska, the fifth child in a family of seven children. She eventually relocated to Columbus, NE, and proceeded to raise six children of her own. She resided in Omaha, NE the final 45 years of her life.  Nelda owned and operated Nelda’s Nifty Windows for 26 years.

Nelda was preceded in death by two of her beautiful daughters, Jayne and Pam; 2 husbands, Donald and Gilbert; as well as her parents and 5 of her 6 siblings.

Surviving Nelda are four of her children: Jackie Loseke (Don) of Nebraska City, Penny Kampschneider of Omaha, Kent Uphoff (Dorothy) of Schertz, TX, and Tony (Jamie) of Omaha, NE; sister, Mary Jo VanAckeren of Columbus, Ne.

She was also the proud grandmother of 22 and great-grandmother to 28. Family meant a great deal to Nelda, and she kept a special place in her heart for all of her descendants.

Nelda will be remembered for her infectious smile and positive attitude. Most important, Nelda’s faith and devotion to God were primary in her life. She and her husband Gil were daily attendees of the 7:00AM Mass at Boys Town for decades and daily participants in the Rosary as well. Her spirit and care toward others will long be remembered by all who knew her.

Family will receive friends on Friday, January 27th from 5:00-7:00PM at West Center Chapel with Rosary at 7:00PM.  Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, January 28th, 10:30AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 14330 Eagle Run Drive.  Interment: Calvary Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Nelda’s family wishes to extend our deep gratitude to the staff at Elk Ridge Village Senior Living, Suncrest Hospice and Margaret Fox for the love and care bestowed upon her in her final years.
