I knew and liked Fr. Buckley very much at St. Cecilia Cathedral. He is so brilliant and so strong in his beliefs. I will always remember his homilies on the Trinity – I think he loved to preach them. I heard them so many times! He was also a wonderful confessor, and I was very thankful for that. I am thankful that I was fortunate enough to know him, and to have him as a pastor.

Father was a bright light and voice of courage for us all. Rest in peace Father, and pray for us.

I got to know Father Buckley during his time as associate pastor at St. Cecilia’s Cathedral. I have fond memories of chatting with him after Mass – he had a good wit and sense of humor.

I’ll always remember the way he would add music into Masses that didn’t even have a cantor or organist at the Mass. He would often spontaneously add an offertory hymn, and I remember “Sons of God” was one of his favorites to sing during Mass.

I am grateful for the years of service he dedicated to St. Cecilia’s Cathedral. May God Bless Father Buckley, and may he rest in peace.

My husband Tom and I met Father Buckley when he was selling his parents home here in Valley. We really enjoyed visiting with he and his brother and had hoped to attend one of his masses. Condolences to his family.

We were friends for 35 years. I attended his first Mass and had a celebration for his friends in my home in Radnor Pennsylvania. Over the years he was a mentor and confidant throughout the many passages of life. I was truly fortunate to know Father Jim. May his soul rest in peace. Amen
