Age 66. Preceded in death by his parents, Richard L. and Zerlina (Lewis) Barnett; brother, Donald. Survived by wife, Debra (Wagner) Barnett; sisters: Barb Barnett, Kathryn Berry (Dennis), Karen Little (Scott), Mary Lorincz (George); 11 nieces and nephews; 23 grandnieces and grandnephews; one great-grandnephew.
Rick worked in Respiratory Therapist and Information Technology at Bergan Mercy/Alegent/CHI for more than 40 years, retiring in 2015. He established, owned and operated Big Cottonwood Vineyards and Winery near Tekamah, NE, where he was the winemaker and vineyard manager.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 2nd from 4pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by SERVICES at 7pm. CELEBRATION OF LIFE to be held on Saturday, Jan. 6th from 1pm to 3pm at Big Cottonwood Vineyards and Winery, 2865 County Road I in Tekamah (please go to www.bigcottonwoodwinery.com for directions). Interment, Forest Lawn. Memorials will be directed by the family.

Rick was such a kind and gentle soul. This world will miss him. Deb, you two were truly soulmates.
