Richard L. Robeson
February 25, 1960 – October 15, 2019
Richard L Robeson passed away at his home on October 15, 2019 at the age of 59. Richard was born February 25, 1960 in Cherokee, Iowa to Frank and Peggy (Bryant) Robeson. His family moved to Newton, IA in 1965, where he attended elementary and high school, graduating in 1979. He married Peggy Wogan on June 7, 1980. The couple had three children: Anthony, Miranda, and Andrew. They divorced in July of 1986, and Richard moved to Omaha, NE a short time later.
On July 30, 1990, he married Dawn Schafer. The couple had two children, Amanda and Abbie. In 1995, Richard began his 24-year career as a welder at Nebraska Engineering Company (NECO). Richard and Dawn divorced in February of 2002. During his subsequent bachelor years, Richard was an avid performer in the Kansas City Renaissance Festival greeting the crowds at the front gate and being paid for his work with a bowl of soup.
In February 2007 he met Lori Higby, and they were married on May 26, 2012. Richard and Lori enjoyed spending time with his children and welcoming many grandchildren into the family.
Throughout his life, Richard enjoyed drawing, hiking, camping, fishing and being at peace with the outdoors. He shared these passions with family and friends. Richard was a hardworking man but always found time for his family. He was known to have a smile and a laugh that caused others to smile and laugh with him. He will be remembered for giving love to everyone in his life, as well as giving the best hugs.
He was a loving husband, a caring Dad, a proud Papa, and a devoted friend. He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy; granddaughter, Taylor. He is survived by his father, Frank (Carla); wife, Lori; children: Tony (Ashley), Miranda, Andrew (Aleah), Amanda (Ben), Abbie (Alex); 11 grandchildren: Carter; Madylane (M), Daniel (Chunk), Drew (Troll); Sophia, Allie, Emma, Katie, Connor; Savannah (Peanut) and Aspen (Monkey); 3 sisters: Susan Eilders (Kevin), Julie Moon (Tim), and Amy Blankenship; 3 nieces: Mindy Hanson (Jon), Alicia Moon, Shelby Blankenship; 1 nephew, Cody Blankenship; 4 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 20th from 4pm to 6pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES: Monday, October 21st at 11am, West Center Chapel with a luncheon to follow. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.

Grandma Carolyn and I met Rich back in 1990’s as Dawn Schafer’s husband and father of Amanda and Abbie. I am so sorry to hear about his untimely passing. We will always have good memories of this good man, and deepest sympathies to family and friends.
