Richard Scholtes

October 26, 1946 – July 9, 2024 

Richard passed away on July 9, 2024. Rick was born in Ardsley, Pennsylvania. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in a few locations including Okinawa, Japan. Eventually he was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base during which time he met his wife, Linda. After being discharged and getting married, Rick enjoyed Calligraphy and photography. He began a career at Midwest Photo Company. While his kids were young, Rick enjoyed building large model train scapes with them. He always had a love for nature and all of its creatures. He enjoyed feeding the birds, squirrels and any other wildlife that inhabited his yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his infant sons, Matthew and Keith.

Survived by wife of 54 years, Linda; children, Allison Hillyard (Jason), Jonathan Scholtes (Amanda); grandchildren, Charlie, Alexandra, Sebastian, Scarlett.

Graveside Services: Monday, July 22nd, 12:30PM at Omaha National Cemetery.

Celebration of Life Gathering: Monday, July 22nd, 1:30PM at West Center Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the National Kidney Foundation or to the World Wildlife Fund.

    Our sincere condolences to Linda & family for the loss of Rick. In our “young” years we spent many Sunday evenings enjoying conversations and laughter during our bowling years at Fred’s. Such a good hearted person. Godspeed to the family and embrace the wonderful memories…Rick & Peggy
