In his professional life, Richard was known as a brilliant engineer. He served as an Electrical Engineer at the US Army Corps of Engineers for over 40 years. Richard received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and later received his Professional Engineering License. Outside of engineering, he had an excellent mind for the stock market. He voraciously learned everything he could about it and loved sharing his knowledge and ideas.
In his personal life, Richard loved spending time with his family. He was a staple at all family gatherings and parties, and if there was not an occasion to celebrate, he would frequently make one by coming over with food for everyone. Richard also loved taking his family members to baseball games. His favorite team was the Omaha Royals.

RIP Mr. Richard. What a kind soul you were in the little time spent with you. A quiet man with few words unless it was politics or the stock market! He felt what he felt, and meant what he said!!!!!
Deepest condolences,
Terri Lewis (Curlie’s sister)
Gwen and I are sorry for your loss. We are sorry that we could not attend the services. I will always remember visiting Aunt Berna and Uncle Franks and marveling at the precision cousin Ricky put into completing all the model airplanes he had completed and showcased through out his room.
