Rita Claire (Brennan) Eldrige

Rita Claire Brennan Eldrige was born in Omaha, NE.  After graduating from Omaha Tech High School in 1948, Rita served in the Women‘s Army Corps during the Korean Conflict and graduated from Creighton University in 1956. She was proud of having summited Mt. Fuji and walking in all 50 U.S. States. She loved to read, to socialize, to listen to classical music, and to celebrate her Irish heritage.

She was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Marvel Brennan, and brother, Richard Brennan. She is survived by her children: Jeanne Miller (Steve), Catherine Sheehe (Edward), Edward and Patrick Eldrige; grandchildren: Edward and Matthew Miller, and Ryan Sheehe; great-granddaughter, Alexandra Corrales-Thompson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 6th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd., followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL on Tuesday, Nov. 7th at 10:30am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 14330 Eagle Run Drive.  Graveside Service on Tuesday at 1:30pm at Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: Siena/Francis House, American Volkssport Association, or the Omaha Walking Club.

    New Cassel Retirement Center expresses our great sympathy for the loss of your dear mother. She was a great friend to many at New Cassel and will be remembered for her wit and sense of humor. All our love to the family.
